Sound Baths in Fremantle
Unwind and experience total relaxation with a beautiful 60 or 90-minute sound bath held at intimate venues across Fremantle and the inner southwest — including Bicton, Cockburn and Fremantle itself.
If you’re looking for a sound bath in Fremantle, you’re in the right place.
Lionheart sound healing events are held at beautiful, carefully chosen venues across Fremantle and the inner southwest — spaces that are warm, welcoming and easy to get to. Whether you’re a complete first-timer or a regular, you’ll find something here that fits your schedule and what you’re looking for.
Each session is led by Lyndal, a certified yoga instructor and sound healing practitioner who has been offering sound baths since 2021. She trained with the Sound Healing Academy and with internationally recognised Canadian sound healer Theda Phoenix, and takes a gentle, trauma-informed approach to all her events.
When you arrive, you’ll lay down on your mat, get comfortable under a blanket, and simply let the sound do the work. There’s nothing you need to do, achieve or get right. The instruments — crystal singing bowls, gongs, Tibetan bowls, ocean drum, chimes, vocals and more — create layers of sound that guide your nervous system into a deep state of rest. Most people describe leaving a session feeling calm, clear and completely recharged.
Sessions run on a regular monthly schedule so it’s easy to make sound healing a consistent part of your self-care routine. Choose from a candlelit 90-minute sound bath, a Sound + Yin session combining gentle yoga postures with sound, or a shorter 60-minute Sound Bath Bliss for a lunchtime-friendly reset.

What to Expect at a Sound Bath in Fremantle
If you’ve never been to a sound bath before, here’s what your experience will look like from start to finish.
You’ll arrive at the venue a few minutes early, set up your mat, pillow and blanket, and settle in. The space is quiet, softly lit (candlelit for most sessions) and intentionally calm from the moment you walk in.
Once the session begins, Lyndal will guide you into a comfortable lying position — there’s nothing you need to do except relax. The sound begins gently and builds gradually, weaving together different instruments and frequencies that encourage your brain to shift into slower, more restful states.
During the session, people experience all sorts of things — deep relaxation, emotional release, vivid imagery, or simply a very good nap. All of it is welcome. There’s no right or wrong way to experience a sound bath.
Afterwards, there’s a slow and gentle return. You’ll have a few quiet minutes to come back before the session closes. Most people leave feeling deeply rested, clearer in their mind, and noticeably lighter in their body.
You’ll want to bring: a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, water bottle, comfortable clothing, and an eye mask if you have one. Bolsters are available at yin sessions.

What my clients are saying
About your sound healer
My name is Lyndal, and I’m a certified yoga instructor and experienced sound healing practitioner based in Fremantle, Western Australia.
I’ve been offering sound baths since 2021, and have trained with the Sound Healing Academy as well as the gifted Canadian sound healer Theda Phoenix — whose approach to layering sound and holding space deeply shaped how I work.
Over the years I’ve built a collection of instruments that I’m genuinely in love with: Australian quartz crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, a 30-inch Paiste earth gong, a 20-inch wind gong, shamanic drums, tuning forks, ocean drum, rainsticks, a monsoon stick, chimes, a shruti box — and my own voice, which I use for toning and mantra.
I take a gentle, trauma-informed approach to everything I offer. My intention is simple: to help you unwind, find stillness, and leave feeling more like yourself. I look forward to welcoming you.
Frequently asked questions
Despite the name, a sound bath does not involve water or a bath tub! Instead, your body is surrounded or “immersed in” different soothing sounds, resulting in a shifted mental and emotional state that many people find relaxing in a way that’s similar to meditation or how you feel after a yoga class, except in a sound bath you don’t need to do anything!
In a traditional sound bath experience, different Tibetan singing bowls — a type of instrument that emits different sounds based on the vibrations made by a mallet — are used. The sound isn’t necessarily the “music” but different tones and frequencies can facilitate a meditative-like state much faster than you would on your own.
Today, however, sound baths tend to include a much wider variety of instruments, including crystal bowls, drums, gongs and more.
A sound bath does not necessarily need to be a group experience. A sound bath can also be done 1:1 in a private session.
Thousands of years ago, people used chants for spiritual healing and the ancient Egyptian pyramids are even considered to be a type of sound temple. The full moon or dark moon was a popular time for this type of healing.
Research has since shown that chanting has strong physiological effects: Studies show it may improve mood and cognition, boost anti-viral activity and more.
There is lots of research about the healing benefits of sound therapy, though studies specifically on sound baths are more limited.
A study from 2016 found that people reported significantly less tension, anger, fatigue and depression after doing sound meditation with a Tibetan singing bowl. Feelings of spiritual well-being also increased, and the effects were most notable among people who’d never tried sound therapy or singing bowls before.
There’s also evidence that the singing bowls can lower blood pressure and heart rate. According to Lavretsky, this is because certain sounds activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the part of the body that regulates rest —which is what causes muscles to relax, breathing to slow, and blood pressure and heart rate to lower.
